Back in 1995 O'Reilly and W3C started the "World Wide Web Journal", a quarterly publication of technical papers and W3C conference proceedings. Over the next 2 years it aggregated the most part of the then available technical knowledge and web related specifications in printed form.

w3journalI remember lots of interesting reads and discovery of new technologies throughout this books. One of my favorite articles and my first encounter with the Python programming language was "Scripting the Web with Python" by Guido van Rossum. I was impressed by the strength of his vision and the clarity of the Python language.

Parts of the W3Journal articles have been available on the web - until recently (i have not found any reasons for the content-change so far). Seaching for the original content i finally got the pages at archive.org, especially "Scripting the Web with Python" is available from this URL now: http://web.archive.org/web/20070114173110/ http://www.w3journal.com/6/s3.vanrossum.html

Accessing the w3journal.com pages from archive.org: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.w3journal.com/ (choose a page archive prior to 2007)
